Cebu Workshop

On October 28, we conducted a workshop for the JEDI teachers in Cebu. Again, Cebu Institute of Technology through Cherry Sta. Romana hosted the event. About 15 teachers attended.

I reiterated the importance of building open communities and the role of each one in this process. I gave them an update on JEDI and our plans for the future.

The teachers filled up the term-end assessment form and we discussed their evaluations. We’ll compile the results and post it here soon.

They also discussed their contributions, mainly on Intro1 since most of them taught this course last semester. They seem excited about the Incentive Progam. We’ll evaluate their contributions and reward them with appropriate points.

I showed the oultine of Phase II courses and explained how we will go about the trainings for these 3 courses. I see that most of them are interested in Mobile.

CIT again volunteered to host the training. Thanks Cherry!

Davao JEDIT3 DAY 5!!!

Today is the last day of the JEDI T3 Davao training. It’s quite relieving since it will all be over soon, but also sad at the same time since everyone will all be going their separate ways :( . Anyway, I really had fun throughout the training since the participants were very cooperative… but also a little bit of “crazy” at the same time (like me! :) hehehe).

The participants presented the exercises that they came up with yesterday. After that, they answered the feedback forms. In the afternoon they took the post test.

Later that afternoon, we gave the participants their certificates and had our pictures taken.

The batch name for this batch of JEDI trainees is “JEDI EAGLES” with Ms. Maui as their batch head.

Iloilo JEDI Batch 2 Day 5

Today, our final day had the groups reporting on the machine exercises and machine problems they added for their classes. There was a bit of a problem as to the definition of “machine exercise” and “machine problem” so it ended up that some groups presented some hard problems per chapter. Also, a group mysteriously vanished, i knew i assigned 5 groups, and today it was strange how there were vacant chairs every five seats.

Turns out that some teachers had to skip because in quite a few schools today is the deadline of grades. Oh well, that’s understandable.

Had the post-test after the discussion. Students all did reasonably better. No one above 50% though.

Courseware and training evaluation after lunch then certificate distribution.

That’s it. :)
